What’s with all this hype about chaga mushroom powder? I’m seeing it everywhere in tea blends, coffees and health magazines.
I’ve tried chaga mushroom coffee from Four Sigmatic and it’s fantastic, and before that I tried a recipe from My New Roots’s cookbook where she recommended buying chaga chunks in bags, steeping it and making tea (or hot chocolate). I’m no stranger to chaga, but it does seem to be everywhere these days.
So when I stumbled upon a giant 50 year old chaga mushroom sitting on display at a farmers market, I had to stop and learn more.
Grant, a mushroom farmer from southern Ontario farms and harvests chaga. He can make the powder and knows all about the best ways to get the maximum health benefits from these golden nuggets.
I had the opportunity to chat with Grant and ask him a ton of questions about how chaga grows, the health benefits and how to make tea from chaga mushroom powder.
It was a fascinating interview that I’m happy to share with you today.
If you’ve ever wanted to know more about this mysterious mushroom, you’re in for a treat.
Have you tried chaga mushrooms? Where did you try it? Are you interested in tasting it fresh, undiluted in cold or hot water? It really is an awesome experience to taste the true essence of the mushroom.
