Edible Flowers Recipes to Spruce Up any Dish
Thinking of doing something delicious with those edible flowers in your garden?
You might be thinking, wait, can I eat flowers? Yes, you most definitely can!
There’s something special about adding flowers to a dish.
Think about when you go to a restaurant and they add a flower to your plate – it always seems extra special, right? But when you think about it, it’s just like any other garnish, like a sprig of parsley or chopped chives.
One of my favorite things to grow are edible flowers. Not only are they easy to grow, but they can take a simple dinner and turn it into something that makes you smile.
This week I break down 13 different ways you can use edible flowers to spruce up your dishes. I’m specifically highlighting flowers that are in season in late spring/early summer weather. But no matter where you live or what time of year it is, you can take these ideas and use them with any edible flowers you have on hand.
Whether you’re making a salad or sandwich for yourself or you’re entertaining friends or family, edible flowers are one of the easiest and most elegant ways to really step up the wow factor and make it extra special.

Awesome post!
Yes, I have eaten the flower of the Sesbania Grandiflora or the flower of the humming bird tree.

I’ve tried it deep fried coated in batter and it’s delicious! It is also very healthy, especially its leaves which we eat finely shredded and partially cooked with scrapped coconut, in Sri Lanka.
