10 things I wish I knew before starting a vegetable garden
I’ve had a vegetable garden for over a decade now and I’ve learned a lot over those years. When I started I knew absolutely nothing about gardening. Since then I’ve operated a farm stand, grown food 12 months of the year (even under snow), and have come to love gardening even more than when I started.
But it wasn’t always this way.
Over the years I faced my share of challenges. I was inundated with tips and tricks and thought I needed to learn all the different gardening techniques in order to be successful. I thought I needed to know everything, be a master at all things pests, and have the biggest, best garden in order to be happy.
But in fact I didn’t need to learn all those things, I didn’t need to grow more to be happy, I didn’t need to be a pest ninja. I had it all wrong.
In this week’s video I’ll share 10 things I wish I knew 10 years ago when I was just starting out in my gardening adventure.
No matter how long you’ve been gardening, I hope the lessons in my journey will help as you find your own ‘gardening sweet-spot’.
